Buff Brass Knuckles
No reason a Rare with a 3x3 inventory requirement for maximum effect is currently underperforming compared to things like knife gloves and flaming claws. God forbid there are other scratch items I've yet to find that are also better than BK. I've had double BK max buffed before and still lost to grandmaster hard 5 lmao

It's 3x3. It counts adjacent and diagonal rings.

Tattered collar at least makes sense being a better scratch item considering it's just double scratch on a legendary, but jesus...

Your post history indicates that you give an awful lot of balance critique for someone who doesn't understand how adjacent items work.
Kind of disappointing to know that's the level of discourse the developers have to work with, but it would explain a few recent design choices.

Either way, I agree on the brass knuckles underperforming - it takes a lot of work to collect enough rings to get Knuckles in an optimal state ignoring duct tape shenanigans, and it never feels like it's as effective for scratch builds as Glove of Knives.
And that's just for scratch builds, anything else that requires that level of specific item optimization and space allocation has much better damage output. I feel like in the current state, Brass Knuckles is used maybe once or twice as a gimmick item and never again once the risk/reward is made clear through practice.

A few updates ago, back when the Ore added +3 damage to weapons and the Alloy added +3 block to armor for each adjacent gemstone, the Glove of Knives was especially overpowered, at least in theory. Sadly, I never managed to garner the luck needed to find both that item, plus the gemstones required to make the build work, but nevertheless that item is still too strong for its rarity.

Speaking from personal experience, I'd say it would make the most sense if the Brass Knuckles was Uncommon and the Glove of Knives was Rare.

That is not the only item with that problem; there are a couple more Uncommon items that are by all metrics superior to most Rares and Legendaries.

I still play this game every few days just because I find it fun to mess around with whatever the game throws at me, and I'm still bummed BK is so bad. Tattered Collar is a huge boon for scratch builds, but knuckles still just aren't good for a rare. I'd love to see some other effects get added - apply weak, more base damage, anything really - since this rare at max power is just bad.
