How to get new skins for characters

I already have a decent sum of skins already but I'm pretty sure i'm still missing quite a few. Pretty sure I have done all the research lore type things that would give you the outfits. Is this just bugged if you do most of your runs as purse before unlocking other characters locking you out of getting new outfits? Do you get them from doing quickplay runs? I'm just so confused. Couldn't find anything relating to the topic when searching.

I think most of them are from research. Check your inventory for more. I've had several hundreds items of junk that I hadn't sold that made it difficult to find the research items.

They're all unlocked already in quick play.
