Credits never end. Bug?

On story mode I just finished the final boss(not the first time on this save) and got the credits scene. There's a skip button but it only speeds up the text scrolling.
After all the credits had rolled by, the scene never closed. The skip button no longer did anything, and I ended up having to alt+F4 out of the game.
This has to be a bug, right?

Wouldn't be the first report about this definite bug (other topics here mention it too), seems everyone has it, and no word on if the devs will ever fix that. Makes me wary to try the final boss myself, lest I lose another save file due to crashes/resets. Don't even know if it counts as beating it post-restart.

Guess I'll have to manually backup my save file and bite the bullet. The game seems abandoned by the devs, so don't expect a fix anytime soon at all - if ever.

Sitting on that screen myself right now. Luckily from past crashes on CR-8 I know the game saves when entering new areas, so at least there is that.

Edit: On reload it brought me to the town with all my items and progress.

While this may be the first game in a long while that truly felt like it could be complete, I would still be sad if this game is abandoned though. I can still see great potential for updates. New heroes with new backpacks, new items, etc. Overall amazing game, in the top 2-3 I have played this year easy.

Whenever I defeat the final boss of the story mode, it happens. I just click alt+F4 to close the game and start again. The progress is there. So, don't worry. But I must say it's me and my pc. Things might or might not be the same on you.

I am pretty sure it is "by design", my reasoning is it references a famous NES game in the ending credits, and probably it's trying to mimic how retro games made you have to power off in the end screen. Not a fan of it personally, though I do appreciate the reference it's making
