Maybe this is a bug. But then again there is a lot of stuff like this in that game that goes unfixed so maybe it's intentional?
Strategy:
- Go to Bramble; try to get an XP tree and/or a component chest before the first encounter. Level-up gives you significantly more space, while an early component can help you use more "bad" directions from the core
- Try to put the core near a corner, and use reorganize to spin back the core as necessary. Might have to face-tank some hits unfortunately. The direction-flipping component can be very useful as it basically makes two directions the same
- Get as many copies of directors (the one which forces current to go one way, regardless of entry point)/things which reverse directions
- Create a CR8 loop, and make sure circuit from all four directions go into the loop
- Profit
I couldn't find the screenshot anymore... but I did manage to have a very consistent CR8 build from this, probably could have cleared Act 3 boss with it too
P.S. I would *very* much appreciate advice on clearing the micro build challenge tho.
There is a boss artifact which gives you an *infinite* winning combination.
Necro'ing to clarify that the artifact in question, I BELIEVE, is "Belt of Knives" that deals 5dmg to all enemies every time you use 5 items. So you can just make an infinite circle loop for your energy charge, because the corner pipes etc. count as items and you kill anything turn 1.
It's not good design, no, but it works.
