Quillswish Plush problems?

So I already got the plush during a run but died and didn't bring it back (frankly, I didn't notice the option to bring 1 item back). Now, about 5 or 6 runs later I still didn't get a new plush and also haven't gotten any new stuff from other characters, which makes me worried the story progression got messed up somehow.
I don't know if it matters, but I died in the Bramble flute event after defeating the main boss.

Is there a problem or am I missing something?

The quillswish plush is just really rare. To my knowledge all it unlocks is a challenge mission, it shouldn't affect story progression.

yeah, its just rare. the thing can show up on any mission until you have it in the town storage
