Travelling warrior

Well this is a great f**k you if I've ever seen one. He was getting more damage and armor each round until I could no longer damage his health, forcing me to flee. Do NOT engage this enemy unless you have some godlike combo going. I am not sure if this is a bug or intentional, but it needs to be addressed.

EDIT: It was my first run after the village was attacked, too. I hope me being unable to finish this run didn't lock me out of progression.
