Any chance we will be able to extend the co-op to online soon? been waiting for a game like this to have the option.

the game supports the Invite Anyone system on Steam, while playing you can send an invite to anyone on your friends list to play with you, for free, no download needed on their side.
All local play rules apply, shared screen etc, communication is vital when it comes to sharing the upgrades though.

It's still not the same. Mobmania, similar game has done Online Co-op, and this and works great.

When we tried a remote play session it was hardly a trouble free experience.

Totally agree! Also, please don't add the "shared Screen" when Online Multiplayer is added! Not being able to see because you got too far apart is basically a death sentence!

i couldnt even get it to work, it just appeared to be a "stream"

It basically is, but you can give your Partner controls for Keyboard/Mouse or Controller. This has the advantage, that you can play with someone who doesn't own the game!
You have to activate it in the Menu and when you are in the Character selection Screen, have the other Player press any button to join.

Another problem with remote play is only the host gets progression. Please add real multiplayer :)

no they don't, only the hosts selection shows the description but all players get to choose, the section box is colour coded per player.
