Especially the side view ones, some can also just take time, and practice. You may not get it your first run through, but after a while of jumping you get used it and can go back on another run through.
Some jumps, you need to have Alice twirl while in the air and only by doing so; you get more familiar with it as you go along, choosing which jumping technique works best at each Check Point.
You can expect a lot of jumping through the entire game. Don't get discouraged it just takes a bit of time.
Hope that helps you, its a really cool game once you get the controlling down. :)
I'm not much of a platformer, this might be the only one I own, but I enjoy the game for it's theme and graphics.
