How to make the game run in 60 FPS
People have most likely searched for this already but I'm just gonna sticky one.
Navigate yourself to this folder.
C:\Users\*PC Name*\Documents\My Games\Alice Madness Returns\AliceGame\Config

on Linux it'll be: /SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Alice Madness Returns/AliceGame/Config/DefaultEngine.ini

You'll find a file
AliceEngine.ini

Do a Ctrl + F on MaxSmoothedFrameRate

There are 2 lines of this. Change both of them.

It should be on 31 as default. Change it to 60. Well you change it to whatever you want. My monitor only have 60Hz so there is no point for me in going higher.

Now the game runs much smoother and is far more fun to play. Haven't noticed any problems while using it.

Well if you're gonna go over 60 I'd suggest you turn off Vsync as well.
UseVsync=True
To
UseVsync=False

I get tearing with it off so I'm keeping mine on.

The MaxSmoothedFrameRate setting is in the DefaultEngine.ini file.

I'd like to hear why did they released it with 31 FPS? I've started the game and instantly noticed it's kinda laggy when opening the menu. However started using google how to unlock it. It seems kinda stupid to me, that they've released it on PC without changing such a significant detail.

Well there could be a few reasons.

1: They want all versions to be identical.

2: They don't think there is a difference between 30 FPS and 60 FPS.

3: Lazy developers who have no wish to polish up the game when possible.

Developers where lazy or they didn't care. I'm just a Global Moderator so I made this topic to spread awareness of this.

Thank you so much! You don't know how awesome 60 FPS, or even 40 FPS and above is until a game makes you play like you're on a console. I've recently learnt that the 30 FPS made it harder for me to PC game and now it's easier on my migraine prone self. Also, much more responsive and fluid.

It was the first thing I noticed when I started up the game. It just didn't feel right. So I googled for a way to remove the lock and found one. After that I made a sticky because it's just so much better with 60 FPS.
