Run Alice: Madness Returns on a different computer

I came across a problem today that I have seen others come accross. One even left a bad review for this game just because of this problem so I thought I would post the solution.

My problem was that I bought this game in a Steam sale a long time ago. When I bought it I had a quick go and activated the game with the key Steam gave me. Today I wanted to play it again but I now have a new computer and Origin would not let the game load as the key I have been given by Steam has already been used on another computer. At first I thought that I may have to buy another key but after using my head a little I found the solution.

If you find yourself in the same boat as I was then you will need to go to www.origin.com and sign into your origin account. If you have bought Alice before from Steam and played it then you will have one as the game has to be activated through Origin before playing. Once signed into Origin you will want to click on 'My Account' and then click on the 'Redeem Product Code' Tab. There is a field there to enter the key that Steam gave to you. Once you redeem that code it will add the game to your Origin account and then you will be able to run the game through Steam on your new computer.

This may be common knowledge but I struggled to find a solution when I came across the problem and I have seen others struggle so I hope it helps. It should also work with any other EA games that require activation through Origin.

It's a one-time activiation check when you first run it IIRC. Originally it would have been with an EA activation server, but they folded them into Origin at some point.

I have something like this happening, but its on the same computer. Its wanting me to re activate it. And I had just played it a few days ago, and I don't know what to do
