Where can I find the save data?

from what I read its in alicegame/checkpoint

but no such folder exists within the steam folder's local files


Yet when I load up the game it definitely continues. Where can I transfer this 100% save into? I just wanna play the game for the aesthetic and story. Not suffer this game's horrid fetch quests and collectathons.

On my Windows PC it is located in "C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Alice Madness Returns\AliceGame\CheckPoint". Where Username stands for the name of your windows user.

I've just installed a new drive and would like to copy over my original savegame so I don't have to start from the beginning again, any help ? Using Steam on Linux with Proton to run Alice.

Your save game should be located at (path-to-prefix)/drive_c/Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Alice Madness Returns\AliceGame\CheckPoint

Default prefix is $HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Proton 3.7/Proton 3.7/dist/share/default_pfx/
it may change if you're installation directory is different. Just copy the files from old drive to the new one and you should be good.

What if there isn't a checkpoint file? can I just create one? I've gone through multiple savepoints without the gam autosaving even tho it gives the clock sign for saving.., anybody got a fix? already added a exception in my firewall

I recently updated the SSD on my steamdeck. With the extra space I used the move game feature in Steam to move Alice Madness Returns from a microSD card I was using to the new SSD.

That seems to have lost all settings and save games. Once the game was on the SSD, when I started it, it was like it was a clean install. No settings, no saves

Looking on the microSD, there are no Alice files left on there & in the new location on the SSD, there is no CheckPoint folder.

Very disappointing. Not sure I can be bothered starting the game again, from the beginning.

The only hope I have is that somehow the save games are on the original SSD, even though the game was installed on a different drive - so I doubt it.

Would anyone be willing to share their save data? My save got deleted and I was in chapter 5. Also don't think I want to play through the whole game again to see the end.

On Windows 10 the address is c:\Users\{yourusername}\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\Alice Madness Returns\

is it possible just to create a file? i didnt have any checkpoint file yet i still when i log in have a 97% save, but im afraid of uninstalling once i switch computers because i have no idea where my save data actually is (again i dont have any file called checkpoint, so its NOT there)
