Game being removed from steam store deleted my cloud save?
Originally I got this game in 2015, but I reinstalled it and played in the last year or two just fine with my save in tact. Now I just reinstalled the game this week and my save is nowhere in the Steam cloud. I wanted to know what was up and only just found out that AMR has been removed from the Steam store, so, I'm guessing it might be because of that. Now I have to start the whole game over again. Thanks EA.

I guess if any of you still have your game installed, backup your saves.

EDIT: the whole thing is really confusing based on everyone's responses. Honestly it doesn't really matter to me anymore, I restarted and I'll deal with it but I put this out there in case anyone has a similar issue

The game never had Steam Cloud Support in the first place.
I can find threads up to a few months before the game got removed with users begging for adding Steam Cloud Support.

So i think you remembering wrong.

I specifically remember reinstalling the game the first time thinking my save files from 2015 wouldn't be there, and they were. But thank you for commenting. In a way it's even weirder knowing that there was never cloud support.

Maybe your save game was still on your pc? When you uninstall the game or even Steam that often does not impact the save games who are usually in your "My Documents" folder on your Windows main installation HDD.
As long as you did not do a total reinstall with previous wiping of the HDD it can survive a long time.
I have some save games going back 7-8 years in there.
Its always fun starting an old game and seeing these saves available.

That's the weirdest part - I got a new PC in 2017, so it was reinstalled on a different computer. I have no idea what to make of this now

The Origin version does support cloud saves. If cloud saves are important to you, you can play it on Origin (the Steam version gives you a free Origin key anyway). Otherwise just make sure to back up the save folder (\Documents\My Games\Alice Madness Returns\) if you need to reinstall Windows or play on another machine.

Did you transfer any stuff from your old pc's documents folder over to the new pc? That might have been enough to do the trick.

Yeah, I'll backup my saves next time, lesson learned.

@alienstookmybeer I don't remember, but I reinstalled it once on this pc without any issues, but between that time and reinstalling it on this same pc the cloud saves just disappeared. Anyway I restarted the game, I'll just deal with it
