There are guides here that tell you how to download it and install it, but you'd probably have an easier time torrenting it all things considered.
It takes minutes to get it working in AMR and minutes more to get it working standalone so you can run it through AMR or not. I'm completely happy with getting it here - simple, fast, safe and *I* choose what mods and features (running through AMR or not or both) I want or not.
In the end you're still downloading something that someone uploaded from their own pc, the risk is exactly the same. It also doesn't take minutes to get it working, it works just out of the box.
As for minutes, again (I feel like I'm repeating what you didn't read), it would take me more time to find (searching, as I said) a torrent that, even if I knew it was safe, would work properly than it takes to get and install the one right here.
Also, the one here is completely unaltered, so no problems - d/l it, do the quick file edit and done. One more quick edit and you can play Alice1 standalone *or* from AMR and you'll have no problem using mods.
Something like this came up with you before when you wanted to know why I would want to play the game from loading another game. I said, then, that I owned (still do) the original box of Alice1 and it needed a patch that doubled as a no-cd to get it working on anything beyond Win98.
You just kept arguing with me and one or two others about torrents being best. I said, then, and say it again, choice and whatever works for you is best. You, eventually gave up the fight.
Edit: Ah, yes, here we are: https://steamcommunity.com/app/19680/discussions/0/3498761139316123705/
No the risk is the same, and if you're relying on other people to comment on the safety of the files then I'd argue a torrent is even safer since there's a higher chance of people anonymously leaving a comment on a torrent page than on some godforsaken steam forum like this one that requires you to have an account in the first place.
"B-But it still takes me time to find..."
well that sounds like a you problem doesn't it
"B-But the original requires..."
even more reason to torrent since that one works just out of the box on modern systems
By all means if the procedures from the steam guides are what you'd rather go through instead of just extract-play don't let me stop you, but spare me the mental gymnastics.
YOU are constantly arguing that your way is the best way and insulting anyone who disagrees almost every time the topic or anything similar to the topic comes up or changing what you said when someone proves you wrong in even the minor-ist way. I disagreed, here, and explained why. I even mentioned your favorite method in one of my replies here.
YOU are the one hung up on this, responding in exactly the same way to these topics how many times since that one? This is only the second topic I've replied to you about that, giving a fuller view (my opposing opinion) of the options, including Dell.
I didn't insult you or say anything against you, just disagreed, but you feel the need to come back with insults, showing your need to argue and be agreed with just like in that previous topic. You could've left well enough alone.
If you decide to make another rude, insulting post, I won't be replying. If, however, you can get past that (I'm not talking about your opinion on the best way to get Alice), I may reply, but it doesn't seem like there'd be much to reply to if you reply with some uncommon decency, as you did after my last reply in the previous thread.
Let me know if it worked
