Alice: Madness Returns

Steam Achievements
Does anyone know why they haven't implemented Steam Achievements?

They havent added Achievements for a number of reasons, those being:

1 - The game came out in June 2011, adding them now would make no sense and be pointless

2 - It's an EA title, EA removed almost all of their game from steam around the same time (2011)
and no longer sell games on steam apart from the ones they currently have up (this would likely be because they still have many game licences in stock for those games with Valve to sell) once those licences have all been sold they will likely remove said games from the steam store aswell. EA removed all their games from steam because of a disagreement between them and Valve about how their DLC's should be sold with Dragon Age 2, initally when Dragon Age 2 came out on steam in 2011, EA sold it's DLC's through an ingame menu which in turn stops valve from making any profit as they weren't being sold on steam per say, so EA threw a fit and removed almost all business with Valve, around a year later Valve's policys changed and now allowed for ingame dlc's to work like that so on...

I'm truly suprised EA hasent added their games back to steam, it's very clear they don't care about video games anymore and only care about money (looking at you battlefront 2) and their sales would honestly go through the roof if they did away with origin which no one likes anyway and added everything to steam.

It just seems bizarre that the game has achievements on consoles but not on PC. Like the other versions had them at release how hard could it have been to implement the Steam versions? Typical lazy EA. It runs like ♥♥♥♥ and is as buggy as an anthill anyway. I don't know how much of it is because it's a poor port with bad optimisation and how much is because of it being designed for an older version of Windows. It's certainly not from my PC. I can run all the latest games at max settings with good frames.

Achievements are often a requirement for console digital stores, unlike Steam. So developers are often FORCED to implement them despite their wishes. It's not the only game where only console versions have achievements.

Ridiculous. FTL added achievements after 8 years to get players to play the game once more.

Ridiculous. For $4.99 a month, users can play the best of EA games on Steam.
This is nonsense i really want to play this game and the playstation version has trophies just convert the list to steam achievements for me its no steam achievements no interest, its really sad that they couldnt have just been added

It is strange that some games EA brought to steam have them and some don't. Like Dead Space 1&2 do not have them, but Dead Space 3 does. It would be nice if they standardized them on Steam and add them to the legacy titles that are missing them.

Your best bet is to ask EA repeatedly. You may never know, they could think of adding them when the new Alice game releases.

Yes, achievements needed.

The game indeed left Steam and is now back on Steam (since 2022). I guess this time is permanent but without the complete edition content.

I could be wrong but I think the only PC version that has Achievements is the Xbox Game Pass for PC version if you have a EA Play subscription, otherwise the only versions of Alice: Madness Returns (and the first game) that has them are the Xbox 360 (which is backwards compatible on Xbox One/Series X|S) and PlayStation 3.
