Game stops working when I pick up rose paint

I'm about 40% into the game and every time I pick up this vial of rose paint, it lets me, but as soon as the game loads to let me out of the area and back on track to the main story, it immediately crashes. I suppose I could just skip the rose paint and see how far I can go before it crashes again but the completionist in me would have an aneurysm. If there's a fix I'd love to hear it.

i have the same problem :( im about 36% into the game and when i pick up the rose the game crashed.

I've just encountered the same problem at 40% completion mark. After typing this issue into Google, literally the first result had an explanation how to avoid crash and get the rose paint.
