How do you remove flooring

You equip a floor tile and go over it. You place it where you want it removed.

I figured it out in case anyone was wondering you take a piece of flooring you already have and put it over the piece you want removed

Yea currently unable to directly remove flooring. only remove-able by replacing with other flooring

you can also use hoe on it to create a farm tile. dont let the animation finish and change the tool and you will remove it without using floor tiles. This way you can't pick them up back into the inventory though
