Inventory tweaks
Player and storage inventory should not snap back to the top after you move an item out of it...it makes moving multiple items very cumbersome if there are enough items in inventory to require use of the scroll bar.

Also a sorting mechanism would be nice (sort by weight, type [sorts to: food & water/meds/weapons/tools/raw crafting materials], and maybe freshness).

Most likely due to the fact that the club is your first torch. Since it is a weapon that you can ignite they probably dropped the improved torch into the weapon category. You can beat stuff to death with it too.

To add more idea about this topic.
Adding lock to the item slot will be nice too.
So the item will stay in that place & not accidentally moved to other place.
also if possible adding "missing item" on that lock would be nice too.
For example you keep 3 bandages in your inventory & lock it.
when you used it all, the item slot will still be there showing the bandage but on red color like a broken item so we know we're out of bandage.
It will be useful for people who often forgot to resupply.

=> belts (hotbar) could do this kind of thing, not sure about inventory itself

(for example ark does something like this where you can kinda allocate hotbar slots for things, and nothing else can go in there - so slot 1 i can designate for axe etc. and even if it breaks, it stays there i just cannot use it... even if i dont have any axe, slot 1 is for axe and if 1 gets into my inventory it will go to 1)

=> ability to search, sort and filter inventory by category will kinda eliminate the need for locking inventory slots as described, if i can easily filter all my medical stuff

+100500. I'm tired press RMB to move all things. Can you please add Shift+LMB to move whole stack to other container?

I end up dragging large stacks in between inventories instead of right clicking. Better methods of moving full and half stacks would be appreciated.

Having a sort option would be nice.

Inventory snapping back to the top when you transfer the last item of that type is still a problem.

The game does so many things right and so many problems have been addressed - you're doing a great job! This is the last thing (other than auto-walk/run/sail) that continues to annoy a dedicated player. :cozybethesda:

I noticed that if you left click the item (select it) before moving it, it doesn't snap to the top anymore. Not ideal but it's a workaround in case the devs don't fix the issue.

I second that motion.

I've found that if you select a nearby item, for example the item directoy before or after, the item you plan to move, drop, or use, it will just focus on that last selected item when you complete your action. Also, the method I use to sort, so to speak, is just to go through my inventory and drop all of a specific type (i.e. foods, medicines, etc) one group at a time, and then just pick them back up.
