What comes near are i.e Subnautica, Planet Crafter and Raft, all of which I also finished.
waiting now for Forever Skies.
2. what I actually meant with this post are challenges within SFOY after the end.
But I will be honest, I have never found a game like FOY. It checks every box in what I love about a game, which is rare in games for me. It's one of a kind and I cant think of anything that could replace my experience with it. Will always be in my top 5 games played.
Subnautica is also a great survival game if you like being underwater.
Put what you actually meant in the actual OP..
It seems you like water.. try sunkenland.
I don’t know what you’ll do though about challenging yourself within the same game you completed. Let it go it’ll be alright :)

Surprisingly it has very close survival feel to Fountain, not card game, just turn based.
Highly recommend it.
And to add another suggestion, I hope you know classic - Don't Starve (solo). Different style but it is one of the best if not the best survival game.

The best game EVER.
I am still waiting to forget the map so I can replay it.
Change the difficulty settings and play it again. Try to unlock all the achievements. Get the one mod that works on Nexus and fly around with the unlocked dev console. Build a mansion or play with scattered camps without a main base. Avoid the main quest line as long as you can, focusing on roleplaying the survival aspect more than the story. Try to max out all your skills. Play on the no respawn setting to make it feel more real and scary. Pick different talents than usual. Don't go to another island until you complete all you can on the current island. Explore and map the ocean areas. Build a base with ample storage and stock up on everything. Try to make creative looking buildings throughout the islands. Master fighting every animal with all available weapons. Focus on collecting and displaying - every trophy, every seed, every plant, every weapon, tool, ships, clothes, medicine, etc. Take pictures and show them off on your profile and here. Write a guide for people just starting out, what you wish you knew at first that wasn't obvious. Film another playthrough with harder settings and/or stream it. Start a Reddit or Discord server or wiki, or contribute to existing ones. Make it a point to answer as many questions as you can via these discussion threads. I think I should stop now, though I could keep going. :-D
