Boss fight - way to ruin the game

Game was quite enjoyable despite the ultrajank fighting\shooting mechanics (skating enemies\horrid animation\arrow speed vs animal speed paired with their direction change that makes zero sense), but the boss fight is just simply ridiculous.
After 2 tries all I want to do is uninstall this mess.

Way to absolutely ruin an otherwise fun game.

Wait until you can craft the flintlock gun and bullets. This makes the boss fights a breeze.

The boss fights are entirely optional.

The rewards for completing them are of little use, and not required to progress through the game.

I just skip them entirely and don't feel that I'm missing out at all. If you really want to see the very end of the game (the cinematic after the final boss fight) just find it on Youtube.

I meant the final boss specifically, and that is exactly what I did; uninstalled the game and watched the ending on YT

What did you use in the fight? Where are you having issues? I beat him first time, normal settings, but had to do it again by reloading a save bc some crossbow bolts glitched into the walls. If I had known that crafting resources would become less scarce bc of one of the books on the island, I wouldn't have cared as much.

I had iron armor with the damage reduction potion, buffalo potions, stamina, etc. The mechanical contraptions were sometimes a pita, but it was an overall very doable fight with all the damage reduction and healing available.
