Sandbox (Free mode) after the game ends
I was surprised by the credits after killing the last boss and leaving the palace.
To be honest, I thought that we would be offered to continue the game in free mode.
Why did we dig for gold? Just to pass the test? What about recipes for gold decorations for the home?
How did the developers even imagine using them?
Like the player has sailed to Bimini, it’s almost the final and the player is like “no, I’m going back home, I’ll sit and admire the house”?
Or I passed all the tests, the final boss is behind the door (visible on the map) - wait, friend, I’ll still sail on the Ark, I’ll still farm resources, I’ll still do farming?
Why did you study new recipes?
Why are the seeds scattered across Bimini?
What is the copper mine for?
It personally took me 2.5 in-game days to collect idols, mine gold, find flowers, complete challenges, and kill the final boss.
I didn’t even read the two books found there - why?
One of them, if memory serves, is about swimming. For what?
At this stage of the game they are meaningless.
Everything is too simple and fast and the player does not have time to use any of the found recipes, gold, or seeds. Even on hard difficulty.

Free mode is definitely needed after the game is over.

Or Bimini should be redesigned to give the player more time to return home.

Remove the forge, for example, so that the player is forced to return home to smelt a golden shield and sword.
Force him to return to the previous islands in order to take from each of them items (relics) that belonged to each of the tribes using a special map from the palace and so that until this map is opened, these items cannot be found in advance.

You can keep playing after killing the final boss. Hit continue after the credits roll. I've done more than a few achievements things since like finding the random island i forgot to map to get the locations one.

You speak the truth.

Just load your save and you get free mode all you want. I find it not as fun when you have everything in the end game. I love wotking hard to advance in the earlier stages. It gives pay off and satisfaction.

I didn't want to keep on playing after the final boss because there is no goal.

I rather started a new game. There is more fun doing it all new way. Very much enjoy streams of other people playing it differently.

I think you should start sailing up the coast until Nova Scotia and hit Oak Island. "Survival: The Curse of Oak Island"

Did you complete all the Survival builds for the points? That usually gets me a few hours of play after completing the game.

I think they plan some more content as there have been things they said they would add that haven't been added yet like having animals on a farm at your camp. I can't see Bimini being the end of the game.

They could add a EULA that will make everyone happy

I find it still motivating to complete all stats 100%
And after all, I think I will have like 100 hours in the game which is outstanding for the money !!!

The Fountain of Youth is cursed.
Sailing home but never reaching home because your ship sank again and then you remember nothing of what has happend or what you have found..................

That should be a fitting end :steammocking:

Hey!

As stated above, you can press 'Continue' to continue playing in free mode after finishing the story. That's good feedback though, we'll think of making this option more evident.

I always thought the "continue" button just loaded the most recent save. I would never have guessed that this would switch the game to free mode after finishing the game. :steamhappy:
Thanks for the tip.

Also thank you for your decision to make the transition to this mode more evident.
I think it would be ideal to make this “continue in free mode” button in the window where the progress statistics are displayed. But the decision is yours.

That's what the 'Continue' button does — loads the most recent save. After the game is finished, you can continue with your save. No mechanics are changed and there is no particular 'free mode', I only meant you can keep playing without following the story. Sorry if my phrasing caused some misunderstanding. =)

I understand.
It was simply not obvious that an autosave was being made during the end credits, which would thereby create the very last save.
I thought that pressing the "continue" button would load the last save made, in this case made manually immediately after killing the final boss.
