To everyone whining about Denuvo
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/ad7d588bff3306263a8aa8fe1cb13c6789a1ede0f08884c876871ea365da7224?nocache=1

It's literally not malware, and Denuvo in majority of games does one check per few months, sometimes even longer. Guaranteed this is the same case.

The game is entirely 2D, with pre-rendered graphics, the store page says at minimum you need an i3 8th gen with integrated graphics. A literal potato can run this game.

Cope and seethe

Edit: y'all are illiterate. I literally helped a friend pirate storm connections last week. But sure I'm a "Denuvo shill" smh

Look I'm all for defending the game but Denuvo is legit bad for games. As a tekken player I recall distinctly the game director blaming denuvo for lag and graphical glitches before they removed it.

Not all denuvo is created equal, and Japanese FG devs are notorious for not understanding PC gaming tools / libraries. To put it bluntly, they'd rather implement their own, terrible butchering of rollback over using Super GGPO.

Let me ask you this: What's a huge difference between Ghost Trick and Tekken 7? I'd imagine there's a whole host of differences, but the biggest one is the hardware requirement.

Ghost Trick can run on an i3, the lowest model of a single gen of Intel processors. It doesn't require a discrete GPU, you can use integrated graphics. Tell me where this game will lag.

Go ahead, download the demo. VirusTotal shows 0 detections on over 60 antiviruses. Are there any graphical glitches? Anything people are reporting for this game?

So no, not all Denuvo is bad for games. Using the higher-end lockdown versions of Denuvo with kernel access is bad for games. Using Denuvo for a brief network check once every few months is perfectly fine.

Hell, people said the same stuff about Sonic Mania. They said Sonic Mania would perform poorly due to Denuvo. A game that runs at 360p.

Sonic Mania's performance took a major hit because of denuvo. You don't know what you're talking about.

Ideally games wouldn't use denuvo or at least remove it somewhere down the road but I can't help but roll my eyes whenever a new game gets shipped with denuvo and every issue that people experience gets attested to denuvo. Game doesn't launch, must be denuvo, the textures don't load properly, sounds like denuvo, the key item didn't spawn, get rid of denuvo already, my game launches with a black screen, denuvo denuvo denuvo.

Maybe if you're running a Windows 95 PC with Windows 8 installed

The only people who complain about Denuvo are pirates. It has never affected me as a paying customer.

it has affected many other people that payed for the games, stop acting like this is a pirates thing, Denuvo sucks and should never be implemented in any game period

Maybe if you pirated because for most people Sonic Mania runs fine. In fact, the only negative reviews of Mania I've seen talking about Denuvo even say the game is perfectly fine, and they only downvote due to Denuvo. I'm gonna need some proof from you that it stutters and crashes as much as you say it does.

Yeah maybe in 2016 when publishers were using intrusive forms of Denuvo. Literally no publisher in 2023 uses that form of Denuvo anymore.

And since y'all will cry about "no proof" despite the burden of proof not being on me

actually, the burden of proof is on the accuser, and this is technically an accusation against people who complain about denuvo. You do have the burden of proof.

Except this is in response to people making the accusation that Denuvo causes major performance loss and is a malware. So actually you're wrong.

Oh, and by the way, I did provide proof, but I see absolutely nobody providing proof to the opposite besides word-of-mouth.

Try playing hatsune miku mega mix on steam, see how the game run for you.
Has denuvo and the game is having major frame rates issues.. worst part, it's a rhythm game. I payed for that game and it irritates me.

Imagine defending something that literally causes many issues for many games. No matter how small and easy it is to run, it can still have an impact on the permormance. Sonic mania isn't a big game and yet it suffers from it too.
A lot of people mind you wants the best experience out of their games, they don't want to play something that can drop to 10 fps. You might not be bothered by it (good for you I guess?) but you're certainly not the majority.

So are you guys hourly? It's weird seeing so many people clamoring so enthusiastically to defend Denuvo of all things.

We're not defending Denuvo, we're saying we're tired of seeing 42069 Denuvo threads flooding nearly every games' forums.
