Cant join lobbies, "An error occured!"

Every time I try to join a lobby I either get the "An error occurred!" message, or I get something about a ship being landed already. On very rare occasions can I actually get into a game. I've tried following all the steps online, Deleting all game files from the computer, disabling antivirus and firewall, updating to the newest version, verifying steam files, and nothing has worked. Id like to know if anyone else is having this issue and how they solved it.

It's about a 50% success rate for me. I think it's something nat type or network related but I have no idea. Honestly I feel like the games with really goofy names have a better success rate for me

I'm having the same problem myself. Been trying for a fair bit now and its not let me join a single one

I get these errors and am pretty sure its because the lobby becomes full right when you actually connect since someone else connects faster than you. but that's just a theory

Same issue here, even for friends only lobbies that aren't full or at 3 people.

happening to me past days. game was running fine then poof. an error has occured or cant connect to steam servers. cant join friends either. or host.

yep that sucks, such server should be flagged bugged or something like that

Also having this issue. Game was running totally fine, then all of a sudden I got kicked from a lobby, and havent been able to get back into one since. I was able to host one game, but now I can't even do that.

I have the same issue. Just got the game, I can't host nor join a lobby.

Ok so I got this issue too, what I tried was disabling my vpn and it then worked fine. So I guess vpn's don't work in this game lol

Glad it worked for you . I don't use a vpn and it still won't work.

Damn, me too. Bought it yesterday and i can´t host or join a lobby. Please someone help!!!

Having this issue as well. Given some of the responses it's probably a network error; if you have a VPN turn it off, or on if its not on, and try. That might help. If not, maybe try from another network if you have one available.
I know, at least in my case, it's not that my connection is too bad - when a friend invites me, I can join just fine. It's just a weird connection error. Hopefully it's looked into soon.
