Game launches but won't load menu.
The game will open and go as far as show the developer and engine logo, but then it only shows a black screen with the mouse, the menu never opens. If I hover my mouse in the right lower corner there's some sort of noise but no engagement. I verified my files, restarted my computer, and uninstalled and reinstalled the game and no luck in fixing it. I've seen a couple other people report this problem but have yet to see any working solutions.

Does anyone have any advice or information or ideas to try? Perhaps installing a mod could work around it? Although I don't know if I need menu access to use mods. Open to anything.

I'm not super computer savvy but I believe this is the right information

CPU - AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 650 Processor 3.20 GHz

GPU - ATI Radeon HD 4200

RAM - 8GB

Yeah, that hardware, especially the GPU, is obsolete by today's standards. You are not fulfilling the system requirements (The GPU doesn't support D3D11 which is a requirement, due to shader model 5).

Some fixes that have worked for me:
-Open the .exe file rather than opening the game via Steam
-Force the game to run in windowed mode (right click game in Steam library, properties, type "-windowed" in launch options)
-Right click .exe file, properties, compatibility, (disable fullscreen optimization, run this program as administrator, use legacy display ICC color management)
-Turn on GPU scaling within Radeon Settings
But here I am again with the same problem... trying to solve it... again... Hope one of these helps someone :vvvvvv_violet:

Ah beans. I mean that makes sense it's obsolete, this computer is from 2010. It's a hand-me-down.

Has the game ever worked for you? Or has it been this way since you bought it? Believe me, I know how frustrating this can be. The last one is only applicable if your computer has an AMD brand processor. You can search for "AMD Radeon Settings" in file explorer and change the GPU scaling there. It's an app.
