Killed by counter immediately

I was playing on a solo file by myself and while putting scrap on the counter i already started hearing banging and got screen shaking from when you ring the bell too much. i rang the bell once and the tentacle immediately killed me and i lost all my items & scrap which resulted in me getting fired. anyone know what causes this?

It could be that you were already making sound while putting the items (or maybe your mic picked some noise from your room). Many people think that what triggers the company monster is the bell, but it's sound in general, so you can just scream at him and it will open the little vent eventually. As soon it opens, don't make any sound, otherwise you might get killed. It's likely the case that the vent opened and you didn't notice, and when you rang the bell, it got angry and killed you

Yeah that makes sense, I had a lot of heavy scrap that i moved to the outside before putting it on the counter and i think the dropping noise from that angered it. Feel like it should get nerfed for solo players though
