It would be better if the creature instead chases away baboon hawks and hides/lays down if it sees a dog/giant as a visual indication that a dog/giant is nearby.
If its a creature that spawns inside, it makes a borking sound if it sees a brachen and stays quiet and hides if it sees a spider/blob/loot bug, so if you see the bork bork hiding, you know a monster recently passed by the borker recently, hearing its distant bork will let you know there is a brachen, somewhere over in that direction.
If the brachen sees the bork bork several times, it'll kill the blighter for ruining its fun LUL
My main idea behind it was being a dumb pet that it's too cute to leave it alone and too dangerous to keep it, this is why I said randomly making noises and not always, so you'll have the fear of your pet making a sound but it might just not.
I wasn't thinking of the creature as help to crewmates, more of a double edge sword as most things in game.
I don't think taking it with you is an easy thing to do and better not to. Same as Steve in Deep Rock Galactic, you have to leave it behind.
this monster would start liking and helping you by leading dogs away and stuff
brackens would be insulted and snap your neck
thumpers would leave you alone for a while
slimes would take a while to digest it
lootbugs will give you their most expensive item or look for one
spore lizard would chase you and be curious
jesters would catch it and throw it away
snare fleas will go for that and start mauling it to easily kill it
ghost girl would immediatly attack
dogs would look for it and sniff it and as long as you don't touch it it won't care
spiders would let you walk near and through the webs
baboon hawks will eat it and look for a monster to fight like dogs or giants
everything else won't care
Not Bosco, there is a perk that you can convert basic spiders, any spider converted will be named Steve.
This is a nice idea, maybe can be used with traps or mines to even destroy some creatures.
