Can't use code given to me by a friend

My friend gave me a code to join his game session. When i go to find crew from the main menu I don't have a box on the bottom right to add the code to join my friend. Is it something I'm doing wrong? I even uninstalled it and played through steam and i still don't have a box to add the code

The game doesnt have a code to enter. If you want to join a friend, they need to invite you to their lobby using the Steam Friends list, right click your name and invite to game

The Code Entry is part of a mod. I can't remember which mod adds it though, but you'll need to just join him through Steam Friends.

Okay so my friend took off mods, opened through steam and sent me an invite but i was unable to join. We both used current and old version, we even uninstalled and reinstalled but we were unable to join each others party. If there is any other ideas i would appreciate it. If not well this game was a waste of my money.

hey so youre using thunderstore, and you need to do it by file, share by file, upload by file, that will fix it

So here's the ideal scenario to test:
1. Your friend turns off all mods, and opens Lethal Company through steam
2. You turn off all mods and open Lethal Company on steam
3. Your friend starts a new game by hosting a lobby, and is on the ship
4. Your friend does not do anything on the ship once they load in
5. Your friend sends you an invite through steam to join
6. You accept
7. You load in
