So, where are the updates?
Upon release dev promised to release updates every week. The promise was kept up for the initial 2 weeks, then there was a small 2-3 week pause but the dev explained that he wanted to make the scope of the update bigger, hence why the version number went up by two when it was released. But, where are the updates now? 6 weeks and counting..

Yes, I know it's a solo dev so updates sure do take their time, but at the very least Zeekerss could post weekly updates on the Steam news tab to showcase the progress, kinda like what Project Zomboid does. This radio silence kinda suсks ngl.

because the game has pulled 150+ million in revenue so since he is 21 that is alot of money so he has said that he will still continue to update but a bit slower for now because of the changes in his life

Zeekers wants to release large updates at a slower rate rather than piecemeal content drip fed in. As for progress updates, dunno what to tell you. It's a 10 dollar game from a young solo dev.

If I were his age and had to pump out updates every week on my little game that exploded overnight, I'd fizzle up and die.

Yes but still why not just post weekly news on the progress instead of going silent?

I feel that people are inadvertently shifting the focus. I have seen too many people in the community defending the developer, saying that the capabilities of an independent developer are limited. But that is not the main point of our complaints. What we are complaining about is that the developer is completely silent during the game development process, as if the entire player community does not exist. They don't even post anything on Discord other than official announcements. The only place where development logs are recorded is on his Patreon, but that is subscription-based and not a platform for equal discussion

Because also writing all this takes time, which can otherwised be used to develop.

It's kind of a "screwed if you do, screwed if you don't" situation. That's why there is so much sympathy, since it's not even a large game company that people would be mad at. It's one person. Someone will be unhappy regardless of what is in the news. Or if there is no news. It's happened countless times across many Early Access games. Updates are either too slow, or too small if they happen all the time.

To be frank? It actually is a lot of work to manage that much money. You can't just dump it all into a single bank account and call it a day. A rich person's problem, yes, but it still objectively takes time away from other things. I mostly feel jealous, honestly.

You can't necessarily ask all of that extra money to get immediately dumped into development either. A lot of indie games maintain the right "mood" throughout the game by being so single-handedly in charge of the entire process. I think we all know that making the company behind the game bigger does NOT always mean a better game.

I agree with post 2 and 4. I have said that for a while... there just seems to be pure silence which gets discouraging (especially if you really like the game). Anytime this is mentioned people seem to get really offended. Yes he does post random animal pictures on twitter or comment about things already released.... but there has been no relevant information on what the update will entail or when it will take place other than "I could release it now but I'm not going to." The problem is this sort of game is super fun because of the unknown... once you figure everything out it gets stale quickly which is why more frequent updates would probably add to its longevity. It was worth the $10.00 but I don't think LC will go much further.

Disagreeing doesn´t mean beeing offended, but well.
I mean, if people think, that it will go down, it´s their side of view, not mine.

Some posts from last month, which has to do with LC:

If you´re bringing up an argument, please check the facts first, thank you.

About the getting boring stuff, there are planty of mods, which will enhance your experience. (I´d suggest using the Thunderstore Mod Manager, since it´s pretty easy to setup mods with that.)

I'm not saying you in particular but anytime this gets brought up we see keyboard warriors come running. I stand by what I said even with your links. The first link is the only update he posted of relevance and importance... that was January 8th. The second was him saying he's tired and giving a blanket statement. The third is challenge moons that I believe were released in V47 back on Jan 8th. If not shortly after and we just get new moons... that was a new moon dropping. My point is we're being given blanket statements without any sort of relevant information on the update or future plans. Facts are facts and I did not bring up any argument. Simply stating what has been happening.

U´ll always have people, which doesn´t accept another point of view, sadly.

If you´re talking about the, WHAT to expect stuff, yeah, that´s definatly a valid point.

Didn´t played challenge moons so far, so no clue about that.

its only 1 dev remember that
also as others have said aswell the dev,s life has completely changed cause of the money he got from this game so he is probably busy with other things mostly because of it like maybe spending or to put it less greedy sounding using the money to maybe fix some issues that he might have or had in his life that are mouch more important then the game cause life always goes first and then again as i said before its only 1 dev so things take a lot of time + mods exist so you can always use mods to add your own updates to the game that others have published
