Lethal Company

Any risk of a VAC ban using nexus mods?
Hey all, so I haven't modded any steam games for years now because I got a vac ban trying to make a custom tf2 scope when I was younger. Lost a looooot of ♥♥♥♥ in that and I've been paranoid ever since.

I was able to determine that mods for the game are client side, so if you want a modded session you need everyone in the group to download them correct?

I also think the sessions are peer to peer and I guess the mods are client side, so there should be no chance of a VAC ban right? I can't recall if that's only used on valve titles, or if that's also part of the verification you can manually do or during updates.

TIA, didn't sleep much lately so probably overly worried. I want muh ultrawide support and higher render resolution lol.

Lethal Company does not have an anti-cheat.
There is no risk.

(Unrelated, but most mods are hosted on Thunderstore, not on Nexus, for this game)

No, you'll be fine running most mods for this game. As 90% if not more are just client side mods for QoL or cosmetic changes

I play with Skinwalkers, MoreCompany, and VR. So even some mods that can change the way the game plays can be used.

Although there are some mods that require you and the host to have in order for you to join *period*. You just have to make sure the person you are joining has those same mods installed.

For example; Skinwalkers, BrutalCompany and VR are clientside so other players don't need those (even though BrutalCompany changes how the game works for the host.. it works for everyone who joins). But mods like Mimic and More Company requires everyone to have them installed in order for them to work.

bruh first the game doesnt have an anticheat and second its not a valve game so it doesnt matter you could still play this with a VAC banned account :wowsfishpalm:

Ah, cool, have not ehard of thunderstore yet but that mod manager is pretty nice. VR also sounds like a blast though I don't have a headset.

I'll go with ultrawide and render resolution for now, any other suggestions for fun stuff that not.... "cheatey"? Helmet cams seem cool but only if everyone has it.

It does matter. Third Party Games with VAC will still apply a VAC ban. Unlike with Valve games, it just doesnt carry over to other games as well, but you can 100% get a VAC ban on your profile for a VAC supported game and thus be unable to play that game online again.

Non-Valve games can have VAC too, though. It's what some of the older Call of Duty games, like MW3 used.
