>A medically diagnosed disorder that is capable of triggering cardiogenic shock and catatonia in the affected is something people like having so they can post about it on social media for likes
Do the world a favor and play a volleyball set with a barrel cactus, so you can never type your idiocy again.
As for the topic, an arachnophobia mode that replaces the spiders with an enemy from The Upturned would be pretty cool. Good marketing for Zeekerss' other projects.
Actually, good point about the dodging, usually you see its webs long before you see the spider itself, so staying clear of any web infested areas usually avoids the spider pretty well.
It doesn't affect you so why the hell do you care
+1 to this existing solely for people who need it
I also have arachnophobia and even though I can manage the game (even played Grounded without the safe mode turned on) but these things definitely make my skin crawl regardless. Biggest horror in this game is me seeing webs or god forbid, turning a corner and seeing one clinging to the wall of ceiling. It's not even in the sense of scary, it's a full-on dreadful reaction that just stiffens me up and gives me a fight-or-flight reflex. Won't stop me from playing the game as even though I literally ♥♥♥♥ myself when I hear or see one of the spiders, but just neglecting the people that love the game but have similar issues is really saddening to see.
Whoever disregards it as a valid complaint and doesn't understand why, REALLY needs to take a long look in the mirror and realize what kind of ♥♥♥♥ comes out of their mouth. Nobody said they want to change YOUR experience of the game. Touch some grass if other people's issues bother you so much, like damn.
Depending on how strong the phobia is it goes from extreme heart rate increase and psychosis to borderline mental shutdown and fainting. I love scary stuff, zombies killers maniacs aliens it's exciting but spiders? I literally have a mental breakdown and start crying
What people dont seem to realize is that Phobias are irrational and abnormal fears, and as someone said, exposure therapy really helps, but it is not an option for everyone, and there have been cases where its gotten worse for people. And what people here seem to struggle with is that yes, fears are absolutely normal, a phobia is not. It is not just 'scary' to them. It's like you're asking them to jump into a pit filled with spikes, completely voluntarily.
in this game, i just take it upon myself because...it is a game
People cant ignore fears
