How is this game with randoms?

Really digging the game so far and been playing a lot with friends, but also wanted to play when my friends aren't in the mood for it. Ofc I could try solo, but in its current state, the game doesn't seem really suitable for that. Not only because of how insanely difficult it gets as difficulty and quota don't scale, but also because half the fun is hearing other people scream as they get eaten by some monster.

So the alternative would be for me to hop into one of the various random lobbies. Only problem with that is that, usually I get very mixed experiences playing with randoms. Some might not communicate at all, some might not even speak English and so you have a language barrier problem, so some games are just almost outright impossible to play with randoms unless you find a group in a Discord Server.

So was wanting to know, how is it here? Is it even worth attempting to join a random lobby? Is there another place where it's easier to find people to play with?

Games like these are more fun with friends than strangers. But there's no certainty you won't or will have fun or memorable experiences. Much like Phasmophobia; the game can be just as hectic fun as it can be bland from team to team. but ultimately this is a party game and party games are best experienced with friends.

That, doesn't really tell me anything I don't already know. Let me clarify, I am fully aware that it is better to play with friends than with strangers. That's not what I was asking about. What I want to know, if it is even playable at all with randoms, or if there is some other place (Like a Discord server) where you can look for people to play with.

Im 18 hrs playing with randoms nothing bothered me.
And you always can meet with this random players at discord and start playing together more than once

I played all of my playtime with randoms and i had a blast.
I didn't even feel like i was NOT part of a friend group 70% of the time because the banter between crewmates was so good.

I'd say just give it a shot, join some lobbies and see if you find people you vibe with.
If you don't, you can always just host your own server and maybe even suggest your playstyle in the title.
I named my server "Let's steal some alien ♥♥♥♥" and i got 3 random but fun lighthearted teammates who had a nice balance of reaching our goals and having a laugh.

Long story short my experience with randoms was great.

I was going through the exact same thing you are now, but yesterday. I ended up taking just one of my friends in and filling the rest of the lobby with strangers and ended up having a blast. I just named the lobby "Buncha randoms with mics," and sure enough that's what it was. Of course, you still have people that leave, but a lot of people are in the same boat you are and they're looking for the same thing you are.

i think im having just as much fun with some strangers than i would with my gaming friend group. you will rarely come across some trolls though and people are more likely to leave which forces people to rehost

You need a group to go far, though far doesn't really mean that much.

I just name my rooms "Randoms with mics" and I always play with strangers - it gives you different experiences and it's fun 4 times out of 5. You meet new people you socialise and you sht bricks together. It's fun to hear your new bro from Greece screaming like a girl while being eaten by a bug
