ive seen a ton of videos of lethal company with proximity chat or chat wit voice, but can I type something out in text?

yes but it's proximity based like the voice chat, so someone on the ship won't see what you typed while inside the building

yep you can but like said above it has roughly the same range as voice proxy chat so noone can read your screams

Yes it does whilst in game use the "/" key to then type using your keyboard

i'm not sure, i've never used the text chat myself but i've seen some people use it.

chat exists, its not good for this type of game, its so much more fun with a mic. Dev should add a text wheel with text commands but other than that, this is a in game, mic heavy game. You can get a passable mic for like $20.
