Worth without friends?

I don't have many friends to play with, is there a solid match making system or you need to invite people you know?
I'm afraid to get the game and being not able to play it with other people

there is no matchmaking, you click on a server you want to join, most of the times you'll be kicked if you don't have a mic.

Not worth without friends sadly, solo you have to play super safe as if you die you lose not only the loot you're carrying but also any loot you gathered onto the ship. Gear you've bought stays if it was on the ship at least but that's it.

Lobbies are hit + miss on how fun they can be. Game is best played with 3+ players of friends.

There are a lot of servers with new players, solo play not be a problem here.
Just dont play full solo(1/4), this game rly depends at 4 man lobby xD

Only two of my irl friends play, and they're not on often.

I have been having a lot of fun (and I supposed luck) joining random lobbies, made some friends that added each other to play again.

Like 8/10 times you'll find a decent lobby with people just trying to play, or learn the game.

Sometimes you'll get trolls or cheaters, this has been kinda rare for me personally tho

honestly, not really. Ive had a bit of luck with rando lobbies after my group of friends silently gave up on the game, but its mostly been misses over hits.

Theres a giant matchmaking discord server with modded and vanilla gameplay groups, I use that and most people on there are nice if you need new people to play with
