as amazing as this game is i feel like permanent upgrades or decor/suits would be a good thin

Yeah, permanent decorations and suits would do a lot, and make buying them feel like less of a waste. Kind of a bummer to realize after we spent dosh on them that it didn't really matter, and is gone maybe an hour later. Not much point to buying any of it if they disappear immediately, particularly since they're so much more expensive than the things that are actually useful.

perm decor/suits yes, upgrade not so much as it breaks the loop [unless you mean as in if i leave this game its gone but if i die its still here then im 100% on yalls side]
