Wouldn't be fun getting dragged and then instantly having your head taken off by a coil-head
You'd hear the scream of your friend get more and more distant, and then you'd have the option to rush to save them and potentially expose yourself to other dangers. Both a good
horror experience and maybe an engaging mechanic.
But that monster shouldn't be the bracken. The bracken's method of killing instantly when nobody is looking means you sometimes turn around expecting to see your friend and instead all you see is a trail of blood and their items. A different but also good horror experience.
