Popularity ruins public lobbies
A few weeks ago it was really difficult to find a server, but as soon as you found one you had a blast for hours.
The popularity of the game kinda ruined the public servers.
There are so many available that sometimes they don't fill up, just because there are so many.

In addition people tend to leave much more quickly than before, probably because they can find new ones so easy.

And sometimes there are games, where some elitists gather who kick you right off the bat, because of your rank plate. Little that they know, that after you get past boss, your rank will get reset back to square 1 and you need a huge amount of xp to level up again.

So you get punished for playing long enough, great.

I kinda dislike the trend this game is going. Public lobbies were amazing before. You met a lot of different people and had a blast having unique moments with different people.
But now I often stop playing after a few rounds because people leave instantly after dying and it's annoying to search for new people again and again.

Why am I writing this? I don't expect anything to change, so probably just to vent some steam.

They'll eventually get better and not rely on ranking since no run is perfect and can stay perfect indefinitely.

Yep I fully agree. This game getting popular ruined it.

It has also brought in a bunch of cheaters and the modding websites now have a bunch of trainers to download and use already. I looked it up and there is multiple client hacks to change money and spawn stuff in and they don't even have to be host to use all those hacks. They can toggle god mode, unlimited sprint, change time of day, etc.

So yeah the new popularity has ruined this game, now cheaters are everywhere trolling or deciding to make the runs way too easy with cash hacks. There is no fun in the game if there is unlimited cash, sprint, godmode, etc. Takes all the fun out of it.

I had 3 games in a row with hackers spawning in money on a fresh save. Twice in a row on a new save with me spending all the starting money on a extension ladder and went to the moon offense first. After I got a full crew and landed and I went to get the ladder, I found 1 flashlight and a shovel inside the drop too. It was new save, I had blew all the starting cash on the extension ladder, There was no visit to company or visting another moon before this. No way we could have that amount of cash to get all that stuff We only start with 60 and I bought the ladder. So I quickly ran back and checked the computer and sure enough we suddenly had 397 instead of zero, cheater busted. I told them they were losers for spawning cash and rest the game. It happened 2 times more where someone spawned cash right away and I had to reset the lobby.

Then one guy was playing dumb at the start of match. He ran out as doors opened and ship was landing on Vow. In the direction he was looking suddenly bees flew in and they flew toward the ship. The bees settled next to ship but there was no hive what so ever there. He instantly pointed it out and said "Oh must be a bug or something weird... I bet the nest is out there, I'll look for it later." Later in the game around 3pm he claimed to have seen the empty hive with no bees and so he ran off the ship to get it. I followed them quietly and when he noticed, he turned to me and said "Oh I can't find it now, I swear it was really close, somewhere around here..." then he said, "You should get back to ship before a giant... *spawns giant in direction he is looking* comes..." "Oh ♥♥♥♥. There is one right there, go back, quick goooo. I'll keep looking." So I ran only slightly away, pretending to be scared then I turned back and I watched him spawn the hive right at his feet. I know for a fact it was not 2 feet in front of him before, he didn't even move a step. He spawned it in after "I turned to ran" and faked him out. He didn't even bother to walk behind a tree or something first to try and hide it. He thought I was dumb and scared to not be watching him like a hawk. They assumed I would just have ran away because of the giant they spawned.

I have seen giants spawn before they rise out of the ground like a zombie out of a grave not POP in existence right in the direction someone is looking right as they mention it will happen. (Aka they used a debug spawn command that creates object on cursor.)

My guess is they tried to spawn extra hives at the start of the match as we landed and would pretend it wasn't them saying, "OH WHAT GOOD LUCK 3 bee hives all next to each other, next to the ship wow." However they messed up where and what they had spawned in and just instantly claimed "must be a bug or something look at those bees with no hive." They waited until later to discover the "bugged bee hive". After returning to orbit I kicked them.

I really hope instead of anticheat the devs just troll the cheaters and add in a cheat detection system in the game where it rigs the game to punish those using cheats.

Like if you spawn money in, then when you return to space they just instantly eject everyone out of the airlock, with an error message about an accounting error. So cheaters think it's either a bug or their hack messed up the lobby so they learn to stop spawning cash in.

If they toggle on unlimited sprint, the game can detect it then act like all the ground is quicksand to them no matter where they are and they just sink and get swallowed up for cheating that way.

Spawning monsters in causes them to only aggro and tunnel them only, until they die, even no clip through the ship or enter in through the doors to reach them then despawn.

As most cheaters are dumb and some not even played for a few hours so they can be frustrated as things go wrong every time they try and cheat. That would be best way to stop them from messing with the game. Because otherwise they will just get around anticheat waiting for their script kiddy hacks to update and keep being morons.

This, but I think it's more because players want to be 'the audience'. You know, they got the game because they saw funny Youtube clips and streams with staged reactions and over-reactions to things and they want that same experience. They forget those groups are friends playing things up for content sake.
They buy the game chasing what they saw on youtube and aren't stimulated enough in normal lobbies of people actually playing. Or in experienced lobbies people aren't freaking out because they already know the threats and strats. Therefore, they leave.

Oh don't worry, there were already cheater around when the game had only around 2000 people.
But yeah, you probably will encounter them more frequently now.

Just keep in mind that the spawn mechanics are janky too, I had bees spawning somewhere else than the hive and they went ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at the beginning of the round. This stuff can happen.

i am that person that played for a little bit, i've got around 1800xp but it says intern

the thing is, people immediately take the rank plate as a show of experience, meanwhile anyone can carry them throughout the game and get them ranked up to boss in no time

i agree with the entire lobby thing, the value of sticking to a lobby is just so low since people can easily leave, wait 10 minutes and find another one

i really hope the game calms down soon enough, so the lobbies will become populated once again.
