I think the main issue is that it's a terrible interior for collecting scrap, which is problematic when the entire point of the game is just that.
Unless it's the water, I also heavily disagree. You may get mildly get clipped on something every once in a while, but besides that, that also doesn't really happen.
This is one thing I agree with. While I do get the water sections are supposed to be challenging, and are probably supposed to have a steep learning curve, I feel this curve is too steep, even for more serious players. It sometimes feel WAY too strict. Some water sections drag on forever and requires the player to navigate at max efficiency, and absolutely no time to mess up, in the slightest way. I personally don't find that fun, like, at all. It should really only be moderately hard, and not pushing extreme levels of intricateness. At that point it's just an eyesore, almost every time.
This one is honestly just the same as the first point, yet extremely exaggerated lol.
The most controversial thing about them seems to be the water sections, but idk man I’ve never had any problems with them. They’re stressful and tight, but at the same time, it’s a horror game.

wouldnt even say that if the cave is so close to main / fire then its easily one of te most efficent interiors you can get
its the rng of it being literally anywhere within the map generation and no way to track it (as far as im aware) making it pure rng on if its good or bad its also one of the worst interiors to evade enemies with especially in caves
it needs a bit of re balancing (mostly the areas mine shaft can generate) but its a nice addition none the less
Elevator and the underwater sections just slow you down too much in a game where you gotta get loot fast. The loot distribution problem is that if there's no cave entrance near one of the entrances, you're also screwed as like 90% of the loot is in the caves.
That's not even factoring in all the weird bugs with the new interior like the box shaped object that kills you if you touch it and loot spawning inside the walls, but Zeek hasn't fixed loot spawning in dumb places since release. (Loot can spawn in the bottom of pits in Factory and in normally unreachable locations inside the Mansion) There's multiple bugs that harm the player that Zeek doesn't bother fixing and yet any smart tactic the players try to use like throwing Maneaters down holes, he patches right quick.
A quick an easy fix for Mineshaft would be increasing the value of loot by like 50% of all loot inside mine interiors. As the interior is more challenging to do than the others.
Other fixes I'd love to see are making Terminal actually more useful on Mansion and Mineshaft levels, bunker doors don't exist on those levels and locking enemies behind doors was a fun tactic that just doesn't exist on those maps.
