i just want to play lethal company normally without all these stupid '''mods''' (cheats) that everyone insists on permanently using. extra carry weight and over powered items constantly being added, 'quality of life' like being able to teleport to the ship constantly
and dont get me started on the sodomite stuff...
Skinwalkers/Mirage is an absolute S-tier mod for example.
BUT NO ONE actually properly builds their modpacks and instead just crams things together and doesn't even touch the config files.
Mods like the one that adds the 5000 fortnite emotes, mods that make the bracken into other models, and mods that give players the big tiddy jiggle physics have worn out their welcome entirely for me. They add nothing and quite frankly they're more annoying than pleasant. Other mods like lateGameUpgrades and lethalProgression simply make the game too easy and even outside that there are mods designed arround trolling people that's just the most eye-rolling crap I've ever seen like controlCompany and the bomb-collar one.
Modpacks themselves have become wastelands as well. Either you have someone who hasn't played since december using 12 depreciated mods that don't work anymore, or you have some adhd kid high af on sugar cramming 140+ mods together with NO thought as to how they work alongside each other. You end up waiting forever to get everyone in, then it either crashes as you start up or you actually get in to find there's some ridiculous nonsense like dogs spawn inside that could have been solved with configs but WASN'T.
What makes this even more obnoxious is that the 16+ lobbies with 150 mods "WORKS"... I see massive groups of people join those every time I'm trying to make a lobby in discord. I can spend 20+ minutes waiting for anyone to even join my chat lobby, while the one with 20 people in it just adds more and more. I can't fathom why anyone would CHOOSE to play like that other than being quickly distracted by the "flashy" features that appear pleasant at face value.
This isn't really a fault of the mods themselves, but a fault of the playerbase and the average player's lack of know-how or effort. What we could REALLY use is a simplistic unified modpack that's tuned to the game's strengths and doesn't include any of the bloatware. A modpack everyone accepts so while they can have custom experiences, there's at least a set version of the game that appeals to a wide audience.
You all are getting caught out, If you hate mods so much why are you so desperately joining modded clients with a modded clients? Launch Vanilla and join.
