Lethal Company

Lethal Company

voice chat not working (linux)
To make it simple, I am playing the game on a linux (ubuntu) portable pc with a basic pair of earphones. However, I have an isssue which is that the game doesn't record my voice via those earphones, my bluetooth headset that I use most of the time and works well or anything else (idk if the game actually takes the sound from the computer directly or not).
I also have this issue with other games like phasmophobia and tf2

If anyone has an idea of how can I fix this issue, pls share it.
Thank you in advance

You say you are wanting the microphone from your earphones to work with games, but several games (native: TF2, proton: lethal company, phasmophobia) don't work with it. Are your earphones dual-jack (two TRS 3.5mm jacks) or a singular TRRS 3.5mm jack (in-line microphone). If unsure, here is a handy chart[www.cablechick.com.au] to check.

If you have a TRRS set of earbuds with in-line microphone then you should check if the port you are plugging into is a proper dual headphone-microphone port. Depending on your portable system, you might have one. If you do have one or you have a dual-jack configuration and your microphone isn't working, your problem likely lies either in driver support of the audio chipset (or more likely) a misconfiguration of your device that is disabling the microphone portion of your wired headset.

In GNOME-based environments such as standard Ubuntu, your default microphone configuration can be checked via the 'Input Device' section under 'Sound' in the Settings app. Most applications will take from your default input device unless specified otherwise. Check that your microphone is recognized and set to an acceptable input volume level. If there are still issues with configuration, it might be worth regardless of using pulse or pipewire to install pavucontrol and check all of your sound devices' configurations from there if configuration in GNOME's settings app isn't fixing the problem.
Thank you a lot for your answer.
After checking, my earbuds are indeed a TRSS, I checked in the setting and they do work correctly, I'm gonna try again to fix the problem but with pavucontrol.
Thank you again, really
So, I checked tested if my sound entry was correct with both the setting app and pulse audio, and both showed positive results despite an absence of chances with this two games. I thing i'll just do it with another headsear.
Thank you again for your help
