Kidnapper Fox & Vein Growths
Played a healthy amount of the new beta and while the feature are really cool for the first hour, after it they just become a nuisance.

The veins were really fun to experience without knowing what would happen, and the Fox caught us offguard the first couple times, but with Weed Killer being such a high purchase and taking forever to quell the growths, it seems like the feature is almost intentionally designed to keep you from playing in the facility/mansion.

If you don't dedicate time and money to 'mowing your lawn' the fox is a guaranteed spawn and, on moons like Assurance, make the Fire Exit nearly impossible to get to without a Ladder or Jetpack (without running the risk of the Fox grabbing you).

I love the counterplay of the fox making you drop items, but on moons where you deal with Worms and BaboonHawks, it kind of makes the game more frustrating and not scary/funny/fun.

I'm really open to this new enemy, and I'd like to see how it changes the gameplay meta, but in its current form it feels like it reinforces Jetpack-only or Shovel dependency. (Shovel dependency isn't a bad thing, as there's a reason some weapons were added, but requiring the player to be always carrying a shovel with them removes the risk/reward part of the shovel and instead makes it mandatory).

Car funny, good for clips, would purchase again

Dude, one spawned instantly on Experiment and killed us all, right outside the ship. It even came onto the ship and killed 2 of us x,x

edit: Bro, the ship landed RIGHT on a huge patch of the stuff on day 2! We couldn't get away! I hate this new thing!

edit 2: Dude, I just got hunted down INSIDE the ship! This thing sucks so much!

The update came out and it's been a bit rebalanced, but still the ship has consistently had a 'neutral safe' area for you where dogs and well-aimed missiles are the only things that can get you. Both of those have actual counterplay which is huge, but the fox's counterplay is gardening or constantly shutting the doors.

I'm sorry but terminal guy is super useful in most play, ESPECIALLY when ghost girl is active. This feels like a feature that would be really cool in concept but it's just aggravating to try to manage.

At least the ship doors can break the tether tongue

Gonna have fun explaining to my crew why I spent 120 on weedkiller instead of walkies or teleporters

Do vein shrouds not despawn each day? Is that why they're a bigger issue over multiple days? Because tbh I don't think there's any reason to trim hedges and the weed killer is better used on the car.

They don't appear to despawn. They keep spreading if you don't spray them down to nothing, and they also seem to spread when you're not on the planet too.

My 4 man didn't clear any of it up to Q5, and we ended up having the Fox spawn next to the ship and kill 2 of us before 8:30am on Assurance. There was just so much Shroud that I don't think all 4 of us spending the day playing gardener would have managed to get it under control. Nevermind that doing so would likely cost us Quota if either of the remaining days ended up going badly.

Still really confused why Zeeker decided this was ready for the Retail build when the whole concept needed some serious revisioning and reworking. Anyone suggesting that people need to just "get good" aren't the ones playing vanilla, or have any actual understanding of balance in a video game. Funny enough, those dunces will often check both boxes.
