kidnapper fox???

I was reading the log for the vein shroud because i thought they were evil and would come alive to attack us I read that they have a mutual relation with the kidnapper fox so now im really hoping the kidnapper fox is not real and was just referenced for world building but if not can someone tell me if kidnapper foxes even exist ingame

i dont know what the kidnapper fox is but you can avoid vein shrouds with the weed killer

We found one on offense. it kidnaps you with its tongue and kills you over time

Vein shrouds act like spawning nests for kidnapper foxes I think, weed killer likely prevents them from spawning.

I found one instantly when i arrived at experimentation, he got in the ship.

I think as long as you have an object in front of you, he can't catch you with his tongue. I barely managed to escape him by hiding in between the camera and the terminal.

It's capable of killing you from quite a long distance. I was watching my friends play the game and it can kill you while you're on top of the ship, and can spawn right as you land and kill you within a matter of seconds. I really hope it gets nerfed soon because it's quite aggressive.

I've been killed in as little as 30 seconds from leaving the ship from the thing. It seems to play dead sometimes?? I think it's easily the least fun enemy in the game in the short time I've played with it, but hopefully once we know its AI it'll be more bearable. 7 HP is kind of insane, though.

Not very long, it seems. Like half a second? The wiki seems to confirm that. It also says the radar booster stuns it for 3 seconds, but I've yet to test that.

Yeah that's the biggest issue I have with it at the moment. There's no reason this thing should have almost twice the HP as a thumper or nutcracker. At most it should take 2 shovel hits to kill the fox, but there should be a lot of foxes to balance that out.
