Spike Traps are broken
Spike traps spawn almost anywhere and give you 0 time to react, what is the point in a sound effect if it just insta kills you anyways. It's a broken thing and needs to either be fixed or removed entirely

Even without realizing that a trap is above, I manage to dodge them sometimes.

I do hope they eventually move the spike trap to it's own interior, I hate how they slow down the speed of exploration inside the facility. But as for avoiding them, no they're actually very manageable. Most spawn with a VERY noticeable timer and those that don't can still be sussed out by the little red light. The problems they pose to the game are not difficulty related, more just annoying.

your going to slow thats all sprinting i run right through them but first time interacting with one i didnt know the sound or see the light and walked underneath it and yea i had no time to react but its a trap thats the point

If you just look up, you're usually fine. Also, just look for the red light that is below the spike traps. Plenty of counterplay, just takes some getting used to

Spike traps are horribly implemented and look super out of place, yet for some reason people like to blindly defend them on the steam forums.

I love the spike trap. The amount of times I have killed thumpers, spiders, and butlers with it makes it worthwhile in comparison to the turret. Have been having fun using the landmines and spike traps to kill enemies. Still need to see if I can kill an agitated Nutcracker with a spike trap in Embrion though.

Unlinke turrets you can kill enemies with spikes and sometimes they kill themselves, which is pretty fun to see. I agree that sometimes they spawn horribly.

I don't think they can kill themselves with spiketraps. At least they used to not be able to. Someone can trigger one I know, but I don't think the enemies themselves can do so.

Enemies can totally kill themselves with spike traps. I always lead thumpers and spiders under them. Normal/Timed Spike Traps do not stop if enemies go underneath them

I've explained myself like a rum drunkard. They don't trigger traps yes, but some of the traps auto trigger each X seconds. Funniest moment when a thumper went around a corner, saw me and roared at me with that "imma eat your ass intent", and the trap going down on him "haha spike trap goes brrrr" and killing it. Then a bracken got me, but totally worth it.

I like them, but I think all exits should have a radius that spike traps, turrets, and mines cant spawn in. it's silly to go in through a fire exit and be obliterated. ending a run because of an unavoidable trap like that sucks.
