Mic not working on chromebook

I play games on a chromebook and i just bought lethal company and my microphone doesnt seem to be detected. i have allowed microphone in the app settings like other posts suggested and i also allowed linux to use my mic and yet my mic still isnt being picked up. the only mic option i have is VirtIO and clicking it doesnt do anything

my friend is having the same issue, curretly were trying to allow it in permissions. I looked it up and it says update steam, then allow permissions
