Control Company Now Useless

"The mod now only works if you are hosting a PRIVATE lobby, this is an intentional change done to prevent griefing public lobbies."

You can no longer use this in public lobbies even if you are the host. Pretty useless mod now.

It had a bunch of new features I was looking forward to using. Now you really can't even use the mod unless you are hosting a private with friends.

I wasn't aware this game's community had a reputation. On the plus side, since I only play with my friends I don't have to experience what the community has to offer except all the amazing mods they've produced.

But really though, I don't understand what you could conceivably mean by that, "people like you". People like what? People who don't give the benefit of the doubt to players who can no longer troll in random lobbies and cry about it? I suspect that they were the only ones laughing in these situations.

incredibly flawed logic, I join pick up games to meet new friends to play with but sometimes I want to play in a lobby with people I don't know, because of that you're excusing a griefing behavior of trolling as mobs and throwing games or bullying somebody?

Making a mod only usable in private lobbies is a pretty dumb move.

You are the prime example of the type of people the mod creator and many players hate. You just want to grief random people who want to enjoy the game, you are a douchebag and an even larger one if you still cannot see why.

Just so you are aware, when they made it available in public matches again, they added a notification that informs all the players that the host is using the ControlCompany mod. That way, people can leave and go find a server that doesn't have someone who likes to play a completely different playstyle to them.

Been playing the game for a little over a year now, never once had a hacker join a private game. You are either not making your games private, or you are pissing some people off and they are exacting their revenge the only way they know how.
