lol, game's still fun
Still fun, but i bet you still have your mic activated.
Not having it activated kills like half of the game.
EZ Solution stopping cryptids finding you is mute the mike entirely... especially with some of the most dangerous enemies like the blind dogs.
Lame.
I don't see what part of the argument involves both of us not using mics. Playing 2 mans with him means I never get to hear the proxy chat, and it never bothers me. Game's too special for me to care.
I agree that the proxy chat, and by extension overall sound design, is the best part of the game by far. But my enjoyment of it isn't dictated solely by it, and if that's the case with you, then that's fine but you don't gotta tell everyone to use a mic either. If it bothers you so much, host a lobby and specify in the lobby name that everyone needs mics. Problem solved, kick anyone who doesn't comply.
i said why. the game and its enemies use it. without it, its half the game.
no need to act like i'm being unreasonable, especially when i acknowleged the game is fun sp and you've confirmed you kept that integral part of the game mechanics activated.
idk about you but i talk to myself when i play games.... causes problems with those dang doggos lol
I care because this is a post in (separate) response to someone lying about the prox chat and its effect on the core game. I don't expect you to have read it (its sitting on 4 pages rn) but that is why this exists. People need to be reminded that children often convince their parents to get games, even when they're banned from talking in VC online even in game. (its way harder to keep tabs on text ngl)
I caught my boy slinging bad stuff and barred him from VC in all games/programs and i aint hte only one. AND as stated in OP that is the point. Not that it was un-enjoyable SP. More that in very few cases ADULTS "cant" voice chat and when users say they can't they're likely under age.
Glad to know i'm not the only one that plays this SP lol
Even so, I still disagree that it makes up such a large portion of the game that people should be barred from playing because of it, because you still make noise by walking, running, turning on and off your flashlight, etc. Most it affects things is when you're hiding from dogs, cause that's the one time you're crouched and totally silent, so talking is the sole reason you'll get spotted. Plus, there's all the monsters that either don't hear you, don't actively seek you out, or, in some funny cases, outright always find you no matter what you do.
With so many actions already calling out you position, as well as the number of monsters not affected by sound, saying people need to stop playing the game because they don't anger dogs with their keyboards is... Something I disagree with.
we got dis
a good ancillary argument that i don't disagree with, but still not to be taken before the whole "adults seldom aren't able to ever VC ever" angle
Otherwise, you shut it and try to have an attitude that won't be such a pain to deal with. I've gotten with muted people more than once, I merely just ask if they can hear, to nod if so and usually give them something to make noise with to signal they need my attention. Sure some enemies use it, but far from all, so I don't see this as a compelling arguement.
You are right, mic is important to the experience, and I too more people used them, but you don't get to decide who should and shouldn't enjoy the game based on what you want your games to look like, when that problem can be solved by having friends.
Oh I read your article. Claiming without any shred of evidence that it's mostly kids playing and that they should stop because of how you think people should educate their children.
Even read your replies, and it's at best purposly ignorant of how the game operates, or at worse, entitlement thinking that people you don't know need to comply to how you play.
Not everyone has a mic, sorry but that's a reality, not matter how advanced the tech gets, some can't afford it, or they play too occasionally to need one. You don't get to dismiss people critisizing your very entitled position if you don't have a rebutal. Either grow up, or have a social life.
This whole thread looks a bit unhinged to me.
This makes me think of another thing.... called VOICE ACTIVATION/push to talk.
Most other games I play are push to talk, to limit the amount of background mic static we hear all too often. I could still be talking, but on push to talk.
I use activation when I can. my s/o is sleeping 10 feet from me while I'm gaming day or night sometimes, whatever my current schedule allows. Simple as that fella.
And also, some got gaming anxiety, like I used to have. And back then, I learned how to be funny through in-game actions or be useful to the objective and have made some good times without a mic., and using text chat.
Both of these situations would arise to warrant someone not meeting your talking demands.
