Why we can't hold items before the ship is landed?

When I join or host a game and try to grab some tools from ground before we land the ship. It always says (Cannot hold until ship lands) Why?

But you can hold scrap items you can't hold equipment

It's probably to stop from desync between client/host.

When you start the game or a new player enters you cannot take anything

Was this ever fixed? Same issue right now even after landing

It depends. It seems to only let you pick up stuff you had on your most recent run. When I come back to finish a particular quota I can only pick up items or scraps that were just received.

Hmm, I’m unable to pickup items I purchase when on planet and same message for keys when I’m actually inside exploring
