also im trying to make the game better for eveyrone, it seems that im not the only one that complained about this mob in the recent update, and you are just trying to make fun of me for that? true clown.
if you know any mods that remove the thumpers, let me know
They're like the Forest Keepers of the inside; the idea is to avoid being detected in the first place.
(Although 14 hours is more than enough to encounter a Thumper for the first time. I've got 14 hours and I've seen 3 thumpers and heard 1 more)
Pointless questions are annoying, yes, but that doesn't make that kind of behavior acceptable. Not to mention you've displayed similar behavior on multiple posts that cannot be "solved with a google search or file wipe".
His rework in v47-49 patch made him even weaker.
Not only is it loud and obnoxious so you know he's present, but his turn rate got capped so you can either escape him at a loop with ease or abuse his turn to circle him and kill him.
At least it's not as weak as the spider though.
The shovel buff alone is already an indirect nerf to them, let alone how easily kited they are. You can jump over them, circle strafe them, do the rodeo-thing and take it patiently, heck, even zig-zag walk patterns work.
But yeah if they're unfun to ya, best to mod them out.
Coil-heads:
- Are extremely fast; so are thumpers if they get a good hallway but coil-heads are always just that fast
- Are quiet enough that you can't even hear their footsteps until they're like less than a second away from destroying you; thumpers you can hear bumbling about from a mile away
- Only take up 1 power point apiece for the mechanics of spawning monsters; thumpers rightfully take up 3, for reference the bracken, jester and weirdly the spider (even though I think it's by far the easiest of the 3-point monsters) all take up 3 points as well
- Pretty much demand someone keep watch of it at all times, so you're effectively one man down on top of however you/your crew mates die; thumpers' footsteps can give the team plenty of warning to start clearing out before anyone even sees the thing
- Can also be somewhat inconsistent with how their line-of-sight mechanics work around corners and through non-wall obstacles
