Is it there a penalty for staying on the same moon?

Wondering if there is any down side to just landing on the same moon to save money?

Would it be worth saving for a decent high end moon and just farming it?

Nope. Feel free to buy access to an expensive moon once and spend the whole deadline there. Random weather is the only downside.

I was told that repeating the same Moon builds Overtime.

No, there isn't really any direct downside to landing on the same moon over and over again. Just keep in mind modifiers change with each day. So, it's possible for a moon to go from normal to eclipse. For the second part of the question if you got the right crew it's fairly easy to make a profit from the three paid planets. The profits from rend, dine, and titan generally go for around 1k worth of scrap. It's just the planets are more difficult in nature.

overtime is for selling over quota, you dont get overtime for repeating a moon or staying past a certain time period on the moon.

well yeah, weather changes, costs to reach, hazard level, the inevitable quota fail happening quicker cause you didn't mismanage profits properly.

If you couldn't then buying moons would be a waste of time.
