Can the mask attach itself if you are holding it for too long?

I really love the mimics and the whole concept of them. However like a few other things in this game its kinda a one and done. Like the company bell, you see someone get yoinked and you dont really see it happen again. The mask is another, with sweaty players actively warning people against putting it on.

If it doesn't already, i really wish that after a certain time of being carried the mask just puts itself on, maybe after a random time period. Obviously give a decent amount of time so it's not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Maybe even have it make noise as it's about to latch onto you. I think it would be pretty cool.

From the sounds of it you're one of those people that wear it on purpose and pretend you didn't know better. Trying to troll and mess with the lobby but since you're told in advance not to do so, they know you did it on purpose and get kicked from the lobby right after by the sweaty host. It's not "sweaty" to warn teammates not to do something stupid and fatal because it "ruin the fun" or some other bs. It's just the same to say hey don't shoot the gun at your teammates it does friendly fire, nobody is going to call it sweaty to warn the team about friendly fire with a shotgun or shovel. Not telling people is actively throwing the game and creating problems you have to deal with because you decided to say nothing.

As for your suggestion that would be neat to have a sound que, kind of like the lightning when it's about to strike you because of an item in your inventory, like if you don't drop it quickly then it force equips into your hand and you have to do a quick time event to fight the mask and drop it. If you hear the warning sound you can drop it and avoid the quick time event.

Ok lets just break this down. There are sweat people playing this game. The sorts who only sell to keep quote. Those people. i absolutely troll because it's beyond boring and missing the point of the game. The sorts of people who are armchair generals and sit on the ship and blast my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ears with the radio telling me about the loot i can literally see right in front of me. But besides that, yes, i absolutely use the mask to troll those people.

Well not to be a jerk but like, a game is a game and what matters is having fun. If I got the mask Im totally locking myself into the ship and using it.

i really would love it to have them be put on by them self with the sound before it does and they need to buff them chasing you cause they stop almost right before they get you and look at you then runs again easy to avoid

This is not true. This is usually confusion related to natural spawns of masked enemies.

It can only activate if you put it on (left click with it in your hand). Nothing else will cause it to possess you.

If it were something you could play around, I wouldn't mind making it a mechanic where it could attach itself if you held onto it for too long, and you could prevent this by leaving it on the ground for periods (nothing too punishing, just you should only carry it if you're taking it to an exit or the ship).

i put it on and some sweat got super pissed i put it on, i asked what it did they knew i was new. nobody told me so i just wore it a few times as i thought it was just some cosmetic we found (i seen streamers wearing hats and pink suits and stuff) and then when everyone was huddled up around me thats when it triggered, totally killed somebody. end of match they were soo mad and they just left we didnt even really lose anything the run was scuffed from start and we were nowhere close to quota either

Sounds like skill issue tbh.
During my first ever encounter with them I used shovel and successfully killed 3 of them without panic (1 mob and 2 friends). Still was funny how second friend found the mask and bragged about it, but was killed by mob and not his own mask.
