quota mechanics punish you for doing good

ive noticed that when you are given a new quota its equal to the amount you earned after completing the current quota. so if you get lucky early on when things arent as difficult you get stuck with a quota thats way too high. anyone else feel that this is just a bad mechanic?

You don't have to sell all of your loot at once. Just sell enough to make the quota and keep the rest in your ship.

It's a coincidence or a mod change.

Last time I played we got extremely lucky in the first quota period and came in with 1000 credits worth of stuff. We didn't hit 1000 required for a quota until the 5th period.

I feel like this is not correct, else it might be a bug, mods or something. We made over 800 on the first quota multiple times and then got 187, sometimes 230 on the next one. We always got the next quota go up by roughly 200-ish, 300 at most later on. We did not reach 1000+ quota until like the 5th-ish quota. That is to say, even if we made 5x the quota limit, the next limit was still just somewhat higher rather than it being 5x higher.

Never had this happen before and I often sell first quota completely to go to titan.

So the first quota usually is 130

I sell about 900-1100 (If I want teleporter), go to to orbit, quota goes only up to 2xx.
