A Different Kind of Mimic Enemy
Everyone's heard of the Mimic that looks like an employee and maybe plays voice lines, then transforms and kills you like a similar enemy in Escape the Backrooms. but I had a different idea.

A door mimic, it pretends to be a door but gets some key detail(s) wrong. The best example I can give to illustrate what I mean is a Fire Exit mimic. it looks like a regular fire exit (red door, white lettering, push-bar) except the text looks like A.I. generated it (so it's like something approximating text, but not getting that it's supposed to be a certain way to mean something). so instead of "FIRE EXIT" it says something like "FIRR EXXIT," "FRIER EXIT", or even have bits of letters missing so it looks more like "FIPC LnIT" (on occasion, the door could be blue, or the text could say "FRIAR EPIC" as rare Easter eggs). I would personally argue that if it says "FIRE EXIT" it should always be safe, for gameplay reasons. But even if there's a chance it's a mimic, you could always go in from outside and mark the real doors.

For the "normal" doors, I'm not sure they should be able to be mimics. The only things I could think of to be tells would be the door knobs being in weird places, or the bars on the window to be wrong or gone, or the windows to just be absent. I just can't think of many interesting ideas. Then there's the danger of a mimic spawning in a key doorway and blocking off most of the map, which I could see getting really old really fast. So mimics should probably only be able to spawn in places where a doorway could be, but aren't. you then might run into the problem of "well on the factory/instillation/warehouse map (I don't know the map type's official name) the doors have windows, so the windows would show a brick wall, or they couldn't have windows, and thus they'd be easy to spot, and a non-issue"? well I just now while writing this thought of a way to make them interesting: non-euclidean geometry.
I know, easier said than done. But if you could make it so looking in the window shows a fake hallway (one that clashes with another, real hallway), you could make a potentially very interesting enemy to test for. Now, is this feasible? would it destroy computers? I don't know. but It's the most interesting Idea I could think of. and this obviously wouldn't work on the Mansion map type (or whatever it's official name is)

Unfortunately I can't code, or make 3D models, or make a non-euclidean window. As such I won't be making this a mod. but I guess the best that we who want this to be a reality can hope for is for some crazy modder to be inspired or maybe use some of these ideas.

to the people reading this, what are your thoughts? can you foresee other problems with the Door Mimic? do you have other ideas that would make it way cooler. Does this mod already exist, and do I look like an idiot? I would love to discuss.

I forget that mods for Lethal Company just have the thing you'd expect them to do as the name
